This artwork is from the series “Black Lava” inspired by solid lava fields in my native country Iceland, theme.  In crafting this piece, I’ve harnessed the raw and primal forces of nature. Using acrylic, modeling paste and sand, I have sculpted a visceral and tactile expression that speaks to the beauty of contrast and the power of simplicity. This is a meditation on strength and resilience, a dance of light and shadow, an ode to the volcanic spirits that mold and shape our earth. It’s a reminder of the eternal interplay between creation and erosion, life and the inexorable passage of time.
